Casi Heartstrong, MA, CCC-SLP
Casi was born and raised in Jackson, CA. She attended college at California State University (CSU), Chico where she studied communication sciences and disorders for both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. She has recently completed the Assistive Technology Applications Certification program through CSU, Northridge.
Casi spent the first 7 years of her career working with deaf and hard of hearing students, as well as students with complex communication needs. She has experience supporting students who use Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) devices and American Sign Language as their primary modes of communication.
In addition to serving children with different abilities in the public school setting, Casi has taught courses at CSU, Chico and has lead workshops teaching the Nurtured Heart Approach.
Casi is passionate about equal access, inclusion and accessibility. She sees communication as the mainspring to a fulfilling life.
On the weekends, you can find her outside in the garden with her family, sitting quietly with a cup of tea or dancing with friends.
